For the utmost success of your campaigns, it's crucial to continuously maintain your contacts. Incorrect and outdated email addresses should be removed. If non-existent or faulty addresses are repeatedly targeted, there's a risk of being blocked by mail client providers and affecting valid email addresses.
This cleanup can be based on the sending reporting. However, eyepin also offers automatic cleanup of faulty addresses. To enable this, activate the automatic hard bounce cleanup in the Contacts/Bounce Manager menu. Here, you can choose whether contacts for whom the last 5 campaigns couldn't be successfully delivered should be unsubscribed or deleted. Unsubscribing keeps the contact along with all historical data (opens, clicks, forwards, etc.) stored in the database, while deleting removes the contact along with all historical data from the database. In both cases, the contacts are added to your internal eyepin blacklist, preventing them from being imported or targeted in this client at a later time without your action.
Your integrated eyepin blacklist combines all contacts that either unsubscribed from the newsletter themselves (SignOut) or were deleted by you (ByCustomer). You can add contacts to your blacklist on your own:
- Click on Contacts/Blacklist.
- By clicking + Add, you can add names, email addresses, mobile numbers, or entire domains to your blacklist, effectively blocking them from being sent to.
Please be aware that contacts might be subscribed in one or multiple clients. In the contact overview, only contacts belonging to the current client are displayed. The Suite Manager displays contacts from all clients and allows you to manage them across clients by selecting the cross-client editing checkbox. Deleting contacts in the Suite Manager irreversibly removes them from all clients, including their contact statistics. You need Suite Manager permissions for this.
The Bounce Manager distinguishes between hard bounces (email undeliverable) and soft bounces (email temporarily undeliverable). Additionally, you can see the corresponding recipient server feedback under Category, along with the number and percentage of affected addresses. By clicking Actions, each category can be displayed as a contact list, searched, or exported as a file.
